The Edge
Who We Are
The Edge Youth and Community Services Ltd is a not-for-profit community organisation that provides programs and assistance for disadvantaged and at-risk youth and their families, in and around Logan City in Queensland. The purpose of The Edge Youth and Community Services is to:
- Provide direct intervention programs and activities for local students who are at risk of isolation, anxiety and loneliness or being exposed to, or involved in negative and/or antisocial behaviour, due to lack of supervision
- Work with local schools to provide early intervention mentoring programs for students who are identified as being disadvantaged or at-risk or having the potential to become at-risk in the future
- Educate and resource parents and families with knowledge and skills that assist them in protecting their children from exposure to and involvement in behavioural patterns that typify at-risk behaviour
- Bring together concerned individuals from within the local community who are seeking to make a difference through volunteerism.
What We Do
We do this through providing a number of services including one-on-one mentoring for at-risk youth in local primary schools and high schools.
Why We Need Help
- More and more people come to us for help, but sadly, we are unable to help everyone who asks
- We want to do more
- We rely on the generosity of financial donors to continue and grow our programs
